Christian Chapman watched his mother paint portraits and nature studies from a very young age, he subconsciously absorbed these skills and the seed of art was sewn…
Surrounded by the natural beauty of the New Zealand Southern Alps, native bush and panoramic views of the sea, he began a deep affinity with the ocean (surfing with his twin brother) and connecting with the earth.
Upon moving to Australia in his early twenties, Christian began refining his artistic techniques. Before long, he had established his name with gallery representation across the country and soon after he garnered the attention of art critics around the world.
Since then, Christian has held numerous exhibitions & sold hundreds of his stock studio paintings to art collectors worldwide. He has also been commissioned to paint hundreds of portraiture & ocean custom orders internationally.

Yes! All original paintings are hand done by established world-renowned Artist Christian Chapman.
If I have multiple people that I want in my portrait, do they have to be in the same photo for your reference?
No they don’t! When Christian Chapman works to paint your portrait you have requested, he can expertly capture their likeness and personalise your painting as you wish. If you only have individual photos of your loved ones, we can work from separate reference pictures and place them together conceptually as if they are in that one special moment in time together.
Will my painting be framed?
All commissioned artworks are offered framed (wrapped and stretched) at no additional charge. Should you wish to have your artwork framed differently, we can create your painting on rolled canvas so as you can frame the art piece how you like.
