“First of all, let me start by thanking Christian for this absolutely stunning painting of Chris Cornell, and to Rachel for all of her kindness in making ownership of this painting possible for me.
Throughout my life, music has been a rather large influence in shaping me into the person who I am today. My parents always had music playing in our home, particularly the music of their generation from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
I was extremely fortunate in my younger years to form friendships, some lasting to this day, with frontmen from different genres of music. Chris Cornell was one of those men. From the first time I met him in Philadelphia, PA he treated me like someone he had known all of his life. Never wanting to talk about himself, but rather wanting updates on the lives of those around him. I have cherished memories of eating late-night pizza and cheesesteaks with him along Philly’s famed South Street after a show. The last time I saw him perform live was at the Scottish Rite Auditorium here in southern New Jersey. Time literally stopped the day I learned of his passing, and to be honest, life hasn’t quite been the same.
When I saw this painting for the first time, and how brilliantly Christian captured Chris’ beauty, both inner and outer, I knew right away that I had to have this for my collection. It is my favorite of all the paintings that Christian has done of Chris, and I cannot take my eyes off of it. It is even more amazing in person. See a painting you like? Grab it now. I promise, you will not regret it."
