Freddie Mercury was famously known as the lead singer of the band Queen. He is a famous British rock singer and songwriter. Mercury's original name was Farrokh Bulsara and their family came from the East African island of Zanzibar. He spent a lot of his childhood in India, where he learned to play piano. Their family moved to Middlesex, England in 1964, where his music career started. Mercury attended Ealing College of Art studying graphic design courses. His first group was with Wreckage, a blues band. After some time, he met Roger Taylor and Brian May, founder members of a band called Smile. The band's new name became Queen when Mercury joined Roger and Brian as the lead vocalist. The last member of the band joined in 1971, who was their bassist John Deacon.

The band released their first self-titled album in 1973. From there, the band continued their success by releasing several albums including Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, and A Night At The Opera. Some of their memorable songs were "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We Are The Champions", and "We Will Rock You."

In 2018, a blockbuster film titled Bohemian Rhapsody was released which showed the life of Freddy Mercury during his time with Queen. Rami Malek played the role of Mercury and even won an Academy Award for Best Actor.
